Overview

TabDSP is built with privacy as a core principle. We collect virtually no data. All audio processing happens locally in your browser, and we never access, transmit, or store your audio content, browsing history, or personal information.

This Privacy Policy describes how Sound Reaction LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the TabDSP browser extension ("the Software").

1. Information We Collect

TabDSP does not collect:

  • Audio content or audio data of any kind
  • Browsing history or website URLs
  • Personal information (name, email, IP address)
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Cookies or tracking identifiers
  • Device fingerprints

Our browser extension manifest explicitly declares data_collection_permissions: { required: ["none"] }, which is a contractual guarantee to browser extension stores that we collect zero user data.

Information Transmitted for License Validation

If you purchase a paid tier, the following data is transmitted to our licensing provider during license validation:

  • License key: The key you entered to activate your license
  • Instance identifier: A randomly generated ID unique to your browser installation (not linked to your identity)

This data is transmitted only during:

  • License activation (when you enter a key)
  • Periodic re-validation (every 24 hours for subscriptions)
  • License deactivation (when you deactivate or uninstall)

No other data is transmitted. Free tier users generate zero network requests from TabDSP.

2. Local Data Storage

TabDSP stores the following data locally in your browser's extension storage:

  • Your audio processing settings and preferences
  • Custom presets you create
  • Per-site audio overrides
  • License key and activation status (for paid tiers)

This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the extension.

3. Audio Processing

All audio processing runs locally within your browser using the Web Audio API's AudioWorkletGlobalScope. This is an isolated processing environment with no network access. Your audio data:

  • Is never transmitted over the network
  • Is never recorded or stored
  • Is never accessible to us or any third party
  • Is processed in real-time and immediately discarded

4. Third-Party Services

TabDSP uses the following third-party service:

  • Lemon Squeezy — Acts as our Merchant of Record for payment processing and license management. License validation requests are sent to api.lemonsqueezy.com. Lemon Squeezy may collect payment and billing information when you make a purchase; this is governed by Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.

TabDSP does not integrate any other third-party services. There are no analytics providers, advertising networks, tracking pixels, or external dependencies beyond browser APIs and the Lemon Squeezy license server.

5. Cookies and Tracking

TabDSP does not use cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, or any form of user tracking. We do not participate in any advertising networks or data brokers.

6. Children's Privacy

TabDSP is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since TabDSP collects virtually no data, there is minimal risk, but if you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take steps to address it.

7. Data Security

Because TabDSP processes all audio locally and transmits only license credentials, there is minimal data at risk. License validation uses HTTPS encryption for all communications with the licensing server.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
